Major Scandal Erupts in Washington DC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (May 7, 2012):
Washington, DC opens its doors to over 200 years of
miscalculation this Saturday as DC Walkabout
launches it’s Scandal tour, a guided walking tour
beginning in Lafayette Square.

Our nation’s capital is as notorious for its
indiscretions as it is for its policies and wonks.
It seems every week a new Congressman,
presidential hopeful, prominent DC resident,
or government agency is under fire for money,
sex, drugs, rock and roll-
or some combination of the four.
Be not wary that our capital city is on a downward
spiral, for DC has a long and thick history of
missteps, indiscretions, and vengeance-
from the horrifying to the hilarious.

DCWalkabout.com is releasing into the wild
a walking tour that brings these stories back
from the dead, and no side of the aisle
-left, right, front, back, top, or bottom - is safe.
The tour will be as brazen, albeit truthfully,
as the persons who inspired it, and you may
want to keep this in mind if considering
bringing any little ones along.

The Scandal tour will launch on May 12th at 5pm,
and will be available throughout the summer season.
DC Walkabout also offers several family friendly
free tip-based walking tours, running tours,
pedicab tours, and private tours.

March 20, 1852 - Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe is first published. This book would sell more than any other book in the world in the 19th Century, second only to the Bible. It is widely regarded as having been influential in laying the groundwork for the Civil War.
Legend has it that when President Lincoln met Harriet Beecher Stowe at the beginning of the Civil War, he remarked “So this is the little lady who started this Great War.”
